PAULEY: His pep talks were truly motivational.

A black and white video plays of Knute Rockne giving a pep talk.

ROCKNE: We’re going inside ‘em. We’re going outside ‘em. Inside ‘em, outside ‘em. When we get them on the run, we’ll keep them on the run. We’re not going to pass until that secondary comes up to the 12. Don’t forget men, that we are going to get them on the run and we’ll go, go, go, go! And we are not going to stop until we reach the end line!

Images are shown of a young Rockne with his football team.

PAULEY: Knute Rockne, All-American player and then coach at Notre Dame is rightfully at the top of football and total sports legend today. I’m Jane Pauley with this Indiana Bicentennial Minute.
