How to Reserve

In Person
  • Your students have studied history; now they can DO history. Our experiences bring Indiana’s stories to life. A visit to the History Center in downtown Indianapolis includes admission to all exhibits in the Indiana Experience.
  • In person visits are work best for groups up to 60.
  • Groups will rotate through the available exhibits with about 15 minutes per space pending group sizes. The Indiana Experience takes about 110 minutes on average to complete.
  • Guests are encouraged to complete the Field Trip Experience Guide Booklet to guide learning as you explore the Indiana Experience. The Experience Guidebooks are designed for grades 3-8, and 8-12 with a mix of look & find questions as well as reflection & discussion based questions.
  • One chaperone per 10 students are required and attend free of charge. Additional chaperones will need to pay $10 admission.
  • Indiana Experience group admission is $3.50 per student. Title I schools always receive free admission.
  • All experiences meet Indiana Academic Standards in Social Studies and other subjects.

Virtual
  • Join Indiana Historical Society educators from the comfort of your own classroom!
  • Virtual Field Trips are 45 minutes long and scheduled via a secure zoom link. Please contact if another format is required for your school district.
  • Virtual Field Trips are accessible for small groups or multiple classes for grades 3-12.
  • Currently you may register for the Madam C. J. Walker, Empowering Women experience where guests will get the chance to meet someone from Indiana Ave in 1915. This interactive session also includes an intro session hosted by museum educators.
  • Cost per program is $75 per class
  • All experiences meet Indiana Academic Standards in Social Studies and other subjects.
