Read Full Transcript

NARRATOR: This Indiana Bicentennial minute is made possible by the Indiana Historical Society and the law firm of Krieg DeVault.

An acapella group begins to sing. Vocals courtesy of Indiana University’s “Another Round.” Images of famous people, famous paintings and portraits as well as famous places in Indiana are shown.

SINGERS: Back home again in Indiana and it seems that I can see the gleaming candlelight still shining bright through the Sycamore for me… do do do do…

The music still plays in the background while images of sheet music is shown.

JANE PAULEY: It’s probably the most famous song about our state. “Back Home Again in Indiana” was written by Ballard MacDonald and James Hanley and published in 1917. I’m Jane Pauley. We hope you’ve enjoyed our Indiana Bicentennial Minutes made possible by the Indiana Historical Society and the law firm of Krieg DeVault.
