PAULEY: Miami, Piankeshaw, Kickapoo, Delaware, just some of the Native American tribes that made Indiana, the land of the Indians, holding off advancing whites for years.
Drawings and paintings of Indians during the 17th and 18th century are shown.
PAULEY: Miami war chief Little Turtle defeated General Arthur St. Clair in 1791, the biggest Native American victory over the U.S ever.
Drawings and paintings of various Native American war chiefs and tribal leaders are shown.
PAULEY: 20 years later, Tecumseh, a Shawnee leader tried unite all Indians but his brother, The Prophet, was defeated at the Battle of Tippecanoe by General William Henry Harrison. Tecumseh was killed in battle two years later.

PAULEY: The Native American tribes were forcibly removed from Indiana including the Potawatomi in 1838, trail of Death. Yet a proud heritage lives on in 20,000 Native American Hoosiers today.
