2023 Holiday Author Fair Application

The Indiana Historical Society is now accepting applications for participants in the 2023 Holiday Author Fair. The event is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

A selection committee will review applications and titles based on the following criteria:

  • Featured title must have been published on or after April 1, 2022.
  • Author has spent significant time in Indiana or is a nationally recognized author on a fall tour, and/or the book pertains to Indiana.
  • Work must be suitable for an IHS signature event (professionally printed and bound).
  • The Basile History Market must be able to purchase books at standard wholesale discounts (40% or higher).
  • The Basile History Market must be able to return any unsold books for a refund or credit.

To have your title considered, please submit one review copy (advance reader’s copies and galleys are permitted if the book is not yet printed) along with the enclosed form. Review copies will not be returned.

If selected, you will be required to provide an electronic version of your book cover. Please send titles to be reviewed, along with the enclosed application, to:

Indiana Historical Society
Attn: Becke Bolinger
Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center
450 West Ohio Street Indianapolis, IN 46202

The form must be filled out completely and must be received by Aug. 5. Due to an overwhelming number of applications and limited space, we are unable to accept all entries.

We will send formal invitations to accepted authors by Sept. 1. Please note that all book sales will run through the Basile History Market.

If you have any questions, please contact Becke Bolinger at bbolinger@indianahistory.org or (317) 234-3683.
