The Indiana Historical Society will postpone all on-site special events and programs, including group tours, until the end of April. We will continue to evaluate the situation on an ongoing basis. Every attempt will be made to reschedule events for a later date.

Join us for a special screening of WTIU’s documentary The Music Makers of Gennett Records and a Q&A with the film’s producer, Todd Gould.
Before the screening (from 6 to 7 p.m.), tour the newest exhibit at the History Center, You Are There 1927: Gennett Studio.
About the Documentary:
During the early 20th century, one tiny recording studio in Richmond, Indiana, had a big impact on the soundtrack of the Jazz Age. The Music Makers of Gennett Records tells the unlikely story of the Gennett Recording Studios, where many of the greatest artists in American jazz, blues, country and gospel music first recorded. The film was produced by WTIU for Indiana Public Media.
