Consultations and Site Visits
Use our experienced staff to help you manage your local history organization.
We offer help in solving all kinds of problems from the mundane to the bizarre. (We especially enjoy answering odd questions.) If IHS staff doesn’t have the answer, the Local History Services team will use our statewide, regional and national connections to find a solution. We are seldom stumped!
Discuss current challenges facing your organization with the LHS team or schedule on-site visits. We are also happy to consult with your committees, boards or other groups.

Site visits are free for Indiana history organizations and other Indiana nonprofits with a history focus. During a one-day visit at your site, LHS staff can provide in-depth consultation or training on topics such as:
- Collections care, handling, and processing
- Deaccessioning
- Fundraising
- Policies and procedures
- Management
- Audience and visitor services
- Exhibit design
