Whodunit?

It’s the 1930’s and a murder has been committed! We need you to help us to find out Whodunit? Put on your best 1900’s or detective attire and immerse yourself in a murder mystery in this Clue-inspired game at the Indiana Historical Society. Interview witnesses, law enforcement, and cagey suspects to solve who the murderer was, what was the weapon, and the motive behind the crime.

Win prizes for the top detective or team who solves the mystery correctly first or be entered in a drawing for prizes if you or your team are successful in identifying the murderer by the end of the event. IHS staff will be deciding who is the “best dressed” and win a prize for the best costume, so dress to impress! Find out if you are a “beezer” (intelligent person) or if you’re not “up to putty.”

Come and see what all the fun and fuss is about!

Check-in opens at 6:30 p.m., program starts at 7 p.m. A cash bar and light refreshments will be available.

IHS Member: $25 | Guest: $30 | At the Door: $35 | Indiana Medical History Museum Member: $25

Frequently Asked Questions:
How does it work?

The game’s afoot at 7 p.m. where you will gather to be introduced to the basics of the crime you have to solve. Grab your clue packet and make your way around the History Center to determine whodunit by questioning witnesses and solving puzzles. The first team to unravel the mystery wins a prize. Subsequent teams with correct answers are entered to win awesome prize packs, with a chance to win the best costume award. At the end, the murderer and the motive will be unveiled to all, and winners will be announced.

What should I wear?

This year’s mystery is set in the early 1900s. Costumes are encouraged if you can move freely around the History Center. Please refrain from pulling out masks that fully cover your face, and refrain from bringing any real or replica weapons.

Do I compete by myself or as a team?

Either! You’ll decide when you turn in your answer card. Though we think sleuthing is more fun as a team.

Can I bring the kids?

Whodunit? is a live-action role-playing event with actors that encourages critical thinking in a historical setting to solve a real murder which may include blood, descriptions of violence, coarse language, illicit activities, and discussion of events not appropriate for younger children. This event is rated PG-13.
