On Friday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m., the Indiana Historical Society (IHS) is hosting the popular national podcast Stuff You Missed in History Class for a live episode recording at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, located at 450 W. Ohio St. in downtown Indianapolis.
Hosted by Tracy V. Wilson and Holly Frey, the podcast will cover Hoosier Gene Stratton-Porter and her intriguing life as an author, conservationist and film producer. The podcast ties in with the newest exhibit at IHS, Limberlost & Found: The Life and Legacy of Gene Stratton-Porter.
A sold-out meet-and-greet will take place before the podcast recording. Registration is required for the event and tickets can be purchased for the show here. The show costs IHS members $20 and non-members $30. Parking at IHS is free. Easily access the IHS parking lot from New York Street and bring your parking ticket to the welcome desk for validation. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tracy Wilson has cohosted Stuff You Missed in History Class with Holly Frey since 2013. Tracy’s love of history started to grow in college, with four required humanities courses that gave her a more holistic way to approach the past and how it affects the present. Tracy spends her downtime much like she spends her time at work: reading, writing, tinkering and brooking only the most delightful nonsense.
Holly Frey is cohost of Stuff You Missed in History Class and Criminalia, and she’s also an executive producer for the iHeart Podcast Network. Her true historical passion is fashion from all eras, and outside of history, it’s all Star Wars, all the time. She lives in Atlanta with her husband and a small herd of cats. When she’s not talking about the past or a galaxy far, far away, she’s sewing, running, watching television, visiting a Disney Park, rescuing animals, going to the movies, traipsing around town in a ridiculous costume or obsessing over delicious food.
