Indiana Historical Society’s Festival of Trees Winners Announced

January 12, 2024

The Indiana Historical Society (IHS) is proud to announce the winners of its 2023 Festival of Trees holiday exhibit!

This year’s Festival of Trees took place November 10 through January 6, featuring a winter wonderland of 78 elaborately-decorated trees representing individuals, families and organizations from around Indiana. Visitors to Festival of Trees were able to vote for their favorite tree, and more than 25,000 votes were cast.

The winners are as follows:

  1. “Santa’s Workshop Christmas Tree” – Sponsored by Central Indiana Woodworkers, Inc.
  2. “Angels in White” – Sponsored by Little Angel Gowns
  3. “Barking Spirits Bright” – Sponsored by the Indiana Canine Assistance Network

During Festival of Trees, guests took part in scavenger hunts for The Elf on the Shelf or the Weihnachtzgurken (10 pickle ornaments hidden in trees throughout the building). In addition, the Stardust Terrace Café by Jonathan Byrd’s offered extended hours and additional menu options, including holiday-inspired treats and tasty specialty beverages, and the Basile History Market featured a large selection of Indiana products for shoppers to check off their holiday gift lists.

Festival of Trees was presented by The Salvation Army of Central Indiana, with support from The Mothershead Foundation, OneAmerica, Printing Partners and MacAllister Machinery, Inc.
