Join the Indiana Historical Society (IHS) for a special happy hour at Good Cheers and Ugly Sweaters! This holiday-themed event for attendees 21 and older takes place Friday, December 8 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, located at 450 W. Ohio St. in downtown Indianapolis.
Wear your best ugly sweater or other themed apparel, and enjoy sipping on complimentary local seasonal beverages, including craft beer, spirits and cocktails. Soak up the season while strolling through the winter wonderland of Festival of Trees, and campaign to win the best — or worst — holiday attire.
Tickets are $20 for adults or non-members; $5 for IHS members; and $10 for designated drivers. Tickets include beverage tastings, a souvenir glass, snacks and chances to win prizes throughout the evening. The Stardust Terrace Café by Jonathan Byrd’s will be open during the event with a limited menu. The Ugly Sweater Contest judging will take place at 7:45 p.m. in Lilly Hall.

Festival of Trees is open now through January 6; hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Select Tuesday evenings will have extended hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Festival of Trees will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
