Weddings and Social Events

Bride and Groom kissing in front of History Center building.

From the classic elegance of Eli Lilly Hall with its four-story vaulted ceiling, walnut columns and imported Italian marble floors to the outdoor terrace along the historic Central Canal in Indianapolis, the History Center is the ideal year-round location to hold your wedding or social event. The History Center can accommodate parties as large as 250 guests in Lilly Hall to smaller, more intimate gatherings in the Mary O’Brien Gibson Boardroom.

Beginning with Lilly Hall’s impressive grand staircase for your wedding ceremony procession, you will have a memorable evening at our facility. After the ceremony, move to the Stardust Terrace Café for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres overlooking the beautiful Central Canal, then back to Lilly Hall for dinner and dancing.

The Stardust Terrace Café can seat up to 125 people and is a wonderful location for evening receptions and dinners. Guests enjoy its unique décor and location adjacent to the Kruse Family Stardust Terrace. The Mary O’Brien Gibson Boardroom on the fourth floor offers a beautiful view of downtown and is the perfect intimate location for parties with fewer than 60 people.

Let the IHS event staff help you make your wedding or social event a historic evening of memories. For further information or to schedule a site visit, please email rentals@indianahistory.org or call (317) 234-0081 or (317) 234-7722.
