Genealogy Society Management Bootcamp

Whether you’re new to your genealogical society or a seasoned veteran, these webinars are for you! Join the Indiana Historical Society’s Local History Services team to learn about organization fundamentals including society management and the basics of fundraising. You’ll learn how to build the framework for a stronger organization and take away boots-on-the-ground ideas for sustaining and growing your organizations.

Session Descriptions:

Basics of Organizational Management (10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EST)

Knowledge of basic organizational management is key to stability and sustainability. This webinar, designed to meet the needs of genealogical societies and all-volunteer organizations, provides an introduction to the main areas of management, including long-range planning, best practices, and legal requirements.

Basics of Fundraising (1 p.m. to 2 p.m. EST)

Fundraising can be intimidating for many organizations, but it doesn’t have to be. This webinar offers an introduction to the principles of fundraising and explores how to build a case for support using your organization’s story to attract new donors, retain current donors and secure larger donations. A Heritage Support Grants webinar, provided by the Indiana Historical Society and made possible by Lilly Endowment Inc.
