Flavors of the Heartland – June

June 10 – Temicka Moore, making Sincere Savory Shrimp & Grits | North and South U.S.| Included with admission

Food is a universal connector. It connects us to each other, reminds us of our past and introduces us to new cultures. The dishes we eat are flavored by the communities and cultures that call Indiana home. Take a break to enjoy the stories and smells of the dishes that make up our food heritage. Each month features a presenter sharing their food culture in this engaging and interactive conversation. Copies of recipes will be provided for guests to create at home! Presentations begin promptly at 1 p.m. and are not repeated during the scheduled time.

Temicka “Chef Tweet” Moore is a Fort Wayne native, graduate of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, the CEO & Executive Chef of Sincere Cateriny, Sincerely Yours Events, Sincere Fresh, Sincere Lyfe Consulting, Moore Educational Ministries Inc., and a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Her passion for cooking derives from southern and northern culinary styles enthusiastically taught by her grandmothers, Susie and Theresa, which paved the way to launch her first food delivery business as a student at Indiana University. Chef Tweet seeks to provide succuluent and unique food solely driven by the following mantras:

  • Love God, Family, and Food more than you love anything else
  • Treat others as you would want to be treated.
  • Always be a woman of your word and THINK
  • Don’t be a dinosaur – constantly evolve or become extinct
  • Do the things you’re scared to do – find the courage later.

Sincere Shrimp & Grits is a savory, sweet, and spicy combination of sautéed shrimp, corn polenta grits, topped with fresh pineapples, and signature Sincere Garlic Butter Sauce. This recipe is near and dear to Chef Tweet as it marries the traditions of both her grandmothers: the earthiness of grits from slave plantations, fresh pineapples from the islands, and a layering of spices from the North!
