Happy ‘Happy Cat Month!’

September 27, 2023

CATalyst Council, an organization dedicated to the betterment of the quality of life for cats has declared September as Happy Cat Month. Curious about how to make sure your cat is happy? CATAlyst suggests that spending ample time with your fury friend, playing with them, and making routine veterinarian appointments are sure ways to make your cat the happiest they can be.

As a loud and proud cat lover, I thought this a great opportunity to showcase some of the many images of happy cats in our collection. Enjoy!

If your cats are anything like mine, and like the ones pictured here, they love mealtimes.

For many cat owners, me included, it is impossible to be stationary without a cat capitalizing the real estate on your lap, like the women pictured in this Rush County, IN home. But, alas, we must accommodate. Especially if it makes our cats happy!

Although not all cats enjoy the great outdoors, some certainly do. Shown here are Henry J. and Roselyn Richardson spending some quality outdoor time with their happy cat. This kitty must not have been a fan of lap lounging though.

Some other cats just like being around us whatever we’re doing as in the photos below. One happy cat is enjoying Joseph Irwin Miller’s organ playing. While another, Chiquetina, is happy spending time with her owner, Jesse Gomez, while he works.

And, of course, I could not write a blog about celebrating Happy Cat Month without including a photo of my two cats. Here they are, very happily spending time with each other.

While cat lovers everywhere work hard every day to make sure their cat companions are happy, Happy Cat Month is a great reminder to celebrate our cats a little extra. Please visit our digital collection if you’re interested in viewing more images of cats, or other animals.
