Indiana Historical Society’s Festival of Trees Winners Announced

January 9, 2023

The Indiana Historical Society (IHS) is proud to announce the winners of its 2022 Festival of Trees holiday exhibit!

This year’s Festival of Trees took place November 11 through January 7, featuring a winter wonderland of 75 elaborately-decorated trees representing individuals, families and organizations from around Indiana. Visitors to Festival of Trees were able to vote for their favorite tree, and 23,000 votes were cast.

The winners are as follows:

  1. “Home for the Holidays” – Sponsored by the Indiana Canine Assistance Network
  2. “Cream and Crimson Christmas” – Sponsored by Physician MBA Program at IU’s Kelley School of Business
  3. “The Art of the Game” – Sponsored by Pacers Sports and Entertainment joined by Finish Line Foundation

During Festival of Trees, guests took part in scavenger hunts for The Elf on the Shelf or the Weihnachtzgurken (10 pickle ornaments hidden in trees throughout the building). In addition, the Stardust Terrace Café by Jonathan Byrd’s offered extended hours and additional menu options, including holiday-inspired treats and tasty specialty beverages, and the Basile History Market featured a large selection of Indiana products for shoppers to check off their holiday gift lists.

Festival of Trees was presented by The Salvation Army, with support from The Mothershead Foundation, Citizens Energy Group, Printing Partners and MacAllister Machinery, Inc.

Twilight Tuesdays were sponsored by Heaven Hill Brands; and Caroling through the Holidays was presented by Citizens Energy Group.
