IHS Hosts National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Display, Offers Evaluation of Historic Timepieces

October 25, 2010

Indianapolis—The Indiana Historical Society will host a display of historic timepieces – including clocks and watches with Indiana connections – presented by members of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Indiana Chapter 18, on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center. The History Center, home of the IHS and the new Indiana Experience, is located at 450 W. Ohio St. in downtown Indianapolis.

This is an opportunity for both IHS members and visitors to bring in as many as two vintage timepieces for a professional evaluation with paid admission to the Indiana Experience. The informal evaluation will include the condition, rarity and value of your family treasures. Members of Chapter 18 will be on hand to answer any questions guests may have about the history of clock and watch making in Indiana and in general.

Admission to the Indiana Experience is $7 for adults, $6.50 for seniors age 60 or older, $5 for ages 5-17, and free to IHS members and children younger than five. For more information on this and other IHS programs, call (317) 232-1882 or visit www.indianahistory.org.
