The Big Band Concert
The Big Band is Back… with Music from the Golden Age of Movies & TV
There was a time not too long ago when cinema themes were so memorable that they became classics. The unmistakable first notes of the opening tune signaled the start of a favorite movie or TV show. And often, big bands provided the soundtrack: lush, dramatic, jazzy. Composing for both large and small screens became an art form.
Join us as we celebrate a bygone era with music from the golden age of movies and TV.
Performance by the Starlighters Big Band
Featuring special guest vocalist Jill Kelly Howe
There will also be live commentary on the history and development of the music style, mixed with trivia throughout the concert.
