American Voices, Indiana Stories

Join the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus for a unique musical celebration exploring America’s story through the people, places, and voices of Indiana. “American Voices, Indiana Stories” weaves together inspiring choral music, engaging storytelling, and historical reflection to illuminate the Hoosier contributions that have helped shape our nation. Through music, narration, and historical context, audiences will experience stories of innovation, resilience, service, creativity, and community that connect Indiana’s past to America’s 250-year journey.

The program is curated by Joseph Perkins Jr. of the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus. Historical research and interpretation is provided by Dr. Nicholas Johnson, associate professor of musicology at Butler University.

Funding for the Indiana Arts Commission’s America250 Grant Program is provided by the State of Indiana and, in part, by the National Endowment for the Arts. This program has also been made possible through a grant from Indiana Humanities in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities.
