Update from the Indiana Historical Society (April 1, 2020)
The Indiana Historical Society is committed to doing our part as we address the ramifications of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Our top priority is the health and safety of our community, guests, volunteers and staff members.
Based on the order by the Indiana Governor’s office and the Indiana State Department of Health, we will temporarily close the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center to the public, including all rental and public events. We will continue to evaluate the situation on an ongoing basis, and every attempt will be made to reschedule events for a later date.
Even though the William Henry Smith Memorial Library will be closed for in-person visits, the Archives and Library staff are still available to assist the public with remote and online requests.
Our leadership team continues to monitor updates from the Marion County Public Health Department, State of Indiana Department of Health, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to aid our decisions.
