Snow It Goes

Designer: Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library


  • The Asterisk – an iconic symbol found in Kurt Vonnegut’s signature as well as appearing in his novel, Breakfast of Champions
  • Books – Every year KVML celebrates Banned Books Week and raises awareness of censorship by having an activist/artist in residence live behind a wall of books in the museum.
  • Snow It Goes – The phrase, “So it goes,” appears 106 times in Kurt Vonnegut’s best known and most often banned book, Slaughterhouse Five.
  • Kurt Puppet – Kurt Vonnegut Jr. was a prolific author born in Indianapolis and is known for saying, “I don't know what it is about Hoosiers, but wherever you go, there is always a Hoosier doing something very important there."
