WalkIN Through History | Hoosier Heroines

Hear the stories hiding in plain sight as you get to know Indianapolis a little better on our walking tours with a twist. Get ready to snap some great pics, play some games, ask lots of questions, and tease out the tantalizing tales teeming beneath the circle city’s streets. 

Hoosier Heroines | Let’s toast to the women who made this city, as we explore the mavens, activists, entrepreneurs and feminists that called Indianapolis home.

$20 | $15 members. Tours are around two hours and limited to groups of 15 or less. At this time, all guests will be required to wear masks while on tour.

Walking tour offered Wednesday June 23 at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m. or Saturday, August 7 at 10:30 a.m.

What should I expect? 

Join us for a small group urban journey through downtown Indianapolis complete with hidden stories, great conversation, and interactive elements. 

How long does it take? How far will we go? 

All tours are 2 hours in length and a total walking distance of around 2 miles at a leisurely pace on flat ground. Please let us know during booking if you’d like special assistance. Specific starting and ending locations will be provided upon your booking confirmation.  

Who’s giving this tour? 

You’ll be led by a member of IHS team.

Where do we start and end? 

At this time, all tours take place within the Mile Square of downtown Indianapolis. Exact starting and ending locations will be provided upon your booking confirmation. 

Are reservations required? How do I make them? 

Reservations are required and must be booked online or over the phone. Just click the link at the top of this page to visit IHS’ ticketing site or call 317-232-1882.  

What’s the rain plan? 

We generally offer these tours rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, guests will receive an email at least two hours in advance of the tour.  

What precautions are in place with COVID-19? 

At this time, we are requiring all guests to wear masks on tours. We want to keep you and our guides safe. All guests are also asked to practice social distancing during tours.
