BLACK HISTORY CHALLENGE
(1) No purchase necessary. (2) Open to legal residents of Indiana of all ages, except employees and immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) of EMMIS Communications (40 Monument Circle, Ste 700, Indianapolis, IN 46204), Indiana Historical Society (450 W. Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202), the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library (2450 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208), Pacers Basketball Corporation d/b/a Indiana Pacers, Pacers Sports & Entertainment and Conseco Fieldhouse (collectively, “Pacers”) (125 S. Pennsylvania Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204), the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, owners, employees and agents. If the winner is under eighteen (18) years of age, the prize will be awarded in the name of the winner’s parent/legal guardian and said parent/legal guardian will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and publicity release in order to claim the prize. (3) To enter, beginning February 1, 2007, (i) obtain a game card at the Indiana Historical Society’s website at www.indianahistory.org or (ii) obtain a game card by visiting the Indiana Historical Society at 450 W. Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202 or (iii) obtain a game card by calling Erin Kelley of the Indiana Historical Society at (317) 234-3161 and requesting a game card or (iv) e-mail Erin Kelley at ekelley@indianahistory.org to request a game card. Answer the ten (10) trivia questions about Black History on the game card and return the completed game card to the Indiana Historical Society at 450 W. Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202. All eligible entries with all ten (10) trivia questions answered correctly will be entered into a drawing to win prizes. All non-mailed in entries must be received by the Indiana Historical Society at 450 W. Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202 by 5:00 PM Indianapolis time Wednesday, February 28, 2007 and all mailed-in entries must be postmarked by February 28, 2007 and received by the Indiana Historical Society at 450 W. Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202 by March 5, 2007. Limit one (1) entry per person. (4) Winners will be chosen at random from all eligible, completed and correct game cards and will be notified by phone on or after March 6, 2007. In the event the winner cannot be contacted or declines the prize another winner will be chosen at random from all eligible, completed and correct game cards. (5) Prizes: Ten (10) winners will receive a Pacers Read to Achieve Backpack ($10.00 value), a copy of the book But They Can’t Beat Us: Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers ($19.95 value), an African American History poster ($4.95 value) and a Booklite ($5.00 value). One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a Family Fun Pack ($50.00 value) and four (4) tickets to the Indiana Pacers v. Atlanta Hawks game on Saturday, March 17, 2007 ($500.00 value). Total value of all prizes is $949. The winning prizes are non-transferable to any other person, including relatives or friends. (6) Winners are solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes and any expenses associated with the game, unless otherwise indicated. No substitution, cash equivalent or transfer of prize permitted except at the team’s option for a prize of comparable or greater value. (7) Chances of winning are based on the number of eligible, completed and correct game cards received. (8) A list of winners can be obtained by writing the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library, Black History Challenge, c/o Tami Edminster, 2450 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208. (9) By entering, entrant agrees to follow the Official Rules and hold harmless and indemnify EMMIS Communications, Indiana Historical Society, the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library, Pacers Basketball Corporation d/b/a Indiana Pacers, Pacers Sports & Entertainment and Conseco Fieldhouse, and/or the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, owners, shareholders, employees and agents against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising out of either (i) entrant’s participation; or (ii) the receipt or use of the prizes awarded in the promotion. (10) In consideration for being awarded the prize, winner hereby agrees and consents, without further authorization, compensation or remuneration of any kind, to the use of winner’s name and/or likeness in any and all advertising, promotions and other publicity conducted by EMMIS Communications, Indiana Historical Society, the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library, Pacers and/or the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, except where prohibited by law.
