the Club!
History can be dynamic and exciting! That's been the vision of the Indiana
Junior Historical Society since it was founded 70 years ago. Today, the
IJrHS serves more than 1,700 student members in grades three through 12.
Members belong to history clubs sponsored by schools, libraries, local
historical societies, home school groups and individual history buffs.
Club activities promote investigation of Indiana’s rich heritage
through hands-on activities and projects.

Podcast Project
During the 2009-2010
school year, the IJrHS invites clubs to create Hoosier PastCasts,
student-produced podcasts about their history of their town. The IJrHS
coordinator will visit clubs in the fall to introduce the project and
provide assistance. Hoosier Pastcasts will be recorded and posted
to the Web in March 2010. IJrHS clubs will be able to share their work
with anyone who has Internet access! For more information, please e-mail
