On Nov. 8, 1883, m. Thomas J. Green in Randolph Co., IN. Child.: Earl, b. 1884 in Randolph Co.; Vernon, b. 1886 in Jay Co., IN. In 1890+ she lived in Dunkirk and Red Key, IN. » Bill Trimble has found the muster-out papers of Walter Earls, private in Co. G of the 25th Indiana Infantry in the Civil War. He would like to give the papers to a descendant of the family. According to Indiana's Adjutant General records, Earls was a resident of Indianapolis and joined the regiment as a recruit. Mustered in on Sept. 30, 1864; mustered on July 1, 1865. Research by the Indiana Genealogical Society indicates Earls may be the Walter Earls (also Earles or Erls) of Marion Co., IN, b. abt. 1827 in KY and d. aft. 1870, who m. Jan. 24, 1849, in Marion Co. Elizabeth Smart (b. abt. 1826 in KY; d. aft. 1870). In 1850 Walter and Elizabeth were living in White River Twp., Johnson Co., IN, and in 1860 and 1870 in Perry Twp., Marion Co., IN. Children: Minerva (b. abt. 1851 IN); Harriet (b. abt. 1853 IN); Mary F. (b. abt. 1856 IN); Anna or Annie (b. abt. 1858 IN); John H. (b. abt. Aug. 1859 in IN); and Isaac (b. abt. 1864 IN).
