State Contest

  • Contest Date: Saturday, May 8, 2010
  • Location: University of Indianapolis

District Contests

  • All Indiana History Day students must compete in a district contest to be eligible for the state and national contests.
    • Each Indiana county has been assigned to a specific district.
    • A district contest is held for schools and youth organizations located in counties assigned to that particular district.
    • District winners advance to the state contest.
    • District winners receive their state competition registration forms following their district contest.
    • NHDI 2010 District Contest dates and locations are not yet available.
  • Central District
    • For participating schools/youth organizations in these counties: Boone, Carroll, Clay, Clinton, Fountain, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Montgomery, Morgan, Parke, Putnam, Rush, Shelby, Tippecanoe, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren
  • North District
    • For participating schools/youth organizations in these counties:Benton, Cass, DeKalb, Elkhart, Fulton, Jasper, Kosciuko, LaGrange, Lake, LaPorte, Marshall, Newton, Noble, Porter, Pulaski, Saint Joseph, Starke, Steuben, White and Whitley
  • East District
    • For participating schools/youth organizations in these counties:
      Adams, Allen, Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Grant, Henry, Howard, Huntington, Jay, Madison, Miami, Randolph, Tipton, Union, Wabash, Wayne, Wells
  • Southeast District
    • For participating schools/youth organizations in these counties: Bartholomew, Brown, Clark, Crawford, Dearborn, Decatur, Floyd, Franklin, Greene, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Ohio, Orange, Owen, Ripley, Scott, Switzerland and Washington
  • Southwest District
    • For participating schools/youth organizations in these counties: Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Sullivan, Vanderburgh and Warrick
